3 injured in downtown Minneapolis shooting

Three people were injured in a shooting in downtown Minneapolis early Saturday morning.

According to a news release from the Minneapolis Police Department, off-duty officers were alerted to shots fired in the area of Third Street North and First Avenue North around 1:53 a.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found two adult victims who had been shot. They provided treatment to the victims until paramedics arrived and took the two to Hennepin County Medical Center. One of the victims, an adult female, is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The second victim, an adult male, was shot multiple times and is in critical condition.

Just after 3:30 a.m., officers were notified that a third victim of the shooting had been treated for a graze wound at North Memorial Medical Center and had been released.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call (612) 692-8477. Anonymous tips can also be sent to 847411 – enter ‘MPD’ followed by a space and then the information.
