The victim of a fatal shooting and the man suspected of killing him were identified by Chisago County authorities on Thursday.
According to KARE-TV, the two men were neighbors and the shooting occurred on a public roadway.
According to the Chisago County sheriff’s office, the shooting was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 11000 block of Lindo Trail in North Chisago Lake Township.
Deputies found a man dead at the scene. He was identified as Donn Allan Johnson, 62. The suspect, 42-year-old Carl Patrick Anderson, was taken into custody.
Anderson was being held in the Chisago County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.
The investigation of the shooting, including its motive, is continuing. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting the sheriff’s office with the case.
No further information was released on Thursday.
