Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who is “person of interest” in the apparent killing of a woman in central Minnesota.
Police are searching for Jose Raul Herrera Torres, 35, of Long Prairie, Minn., after officers in Long Prairie discovered the body of a woman in a residence at about 8 p.m. Thursday. The woman and Torres were last seen by neighbors outside the residence and witnesses heard arguing shortly after, according to Long Prairie police.

When police arrived, Torres and a 2002 tan Ford Focus with Minnesota plates 976 DYA were both missing.
Evidence at the scene suggested the woman was the victim of a homicide, according to police. An autopsy was pending. Police did not release her name.
Torres is described as a white/Hispanic man; 6 feet, 2 inches tall; 223 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Police say he has ties to California and Mexico.
Anyone with information about him or the vehicle he’s believed to be driving is asked to call the Long Prairie Police Department at 320-732-2156.
