Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and injured a 7-year-old girl crossing a St. Paul street on Wednesday morning.
The child was taken to Regions Hospital with a broken leg and other minor injuries, said Steve Linders, a St. Paul police spokesman.
The crash happened about 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, as the girl crossed the in the middle of the 1800 block of East Seventh Street, Linders said. She was struck by a gold or silver four-door sedan.

Officers were not able to locate the vehicle, Linders said.

As of last week, city data shows there were were 128 crashes involving pedestrians in St. Paul this year; 2 people have died as a result and 105 were injured. The number of crashes is ahead of last year, when there were 114 by the same time in 2016.
