An attempted robbery was reported Monday night near Dinkytown.
Minneapolis Police Department officers responded to the incident, which occurred about 9:15 p.m. near the intersection of University Avenue Southeast and 13th Avenue Southeast, according to the University of Minnesota.
Police say the victim was approached by a suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded valuables. No valuables were taken, however, and the victim wasn’t harmed.
The suspect was last seen running away.
The suspect was described as a 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 black man, age 25 to 30. He had a medium build with hazel eyes and short, curly black hair and wore a camouflage jacket and dark jeans.
