Forest Lake police say Mark Kurtz hasn’t been seen or contacted friends or family members since April 23.
Police on Monday issued a statewide missing-person alert for Kurtz, 55, who left his apartment in Forest Lake just before 6 p.m. April 23 and was last seen just after 6 p.m. at the Holiday Station Store, 1208 Broadway Ave.
It is unusual for Kurtz, who is married, to be gone for an extended period of time without having any contact with his friends or family, said Capt. Greg Weiss of the Forest Lake Police Department.
“We do not suspect any foul play at this time,” Weiss said. “We are concerned about his welfare. He has left his residence before, but not for this length of time.”
Kurtz has been known to visit the Carlos Avery State Wildlife Management Area in Columbus Township and the Higher Ground emergency shelter in St. Paul, according to the alert.
Kurtz is 6 feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Forest Lake police at 651-464-5877.
