Burnsville police report a missing 86-year-old resident who suffers from dementia has been located with the help of a good Samaritan in Wisconsin.
James Arlo Shellum had been seen about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at a BP station in Mauston, Wis., about 200 miles southeast of Burnsville on Interstate 90/94. Shellum’s family was concerned that his dementia contributed to his absence, according to a Burnsville Police Department news release.
“A good samaritan saw the reports about Shellum and spotted him in Pittsville, Wis.” Burnsville police said in the release. “The man contacted law enforcement and stayed with Shellum until deputies arrived.”
Shellum was being reunited with his family, the release said.
