Two men were hospitalized after being shot in St. Paul’s Frogtown area on Sunday night.
Officers responded to Edmund Avenue and Milton Street about 9:50 p.m. on a report of shots fired.
Police found a 45-year-old man who was shot in the back and leg in front of a residence in the 900 block of Edmund Street, said Sgt. Mike Ernster, a St. Paul police spokesman.
A 21-year-old who was shot in the groin was in the backyard of another residence on the block, Ernster said.
Paramedics took both men to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police identified “(p)ossible suspects with gang membership/ties,” according to a police report. No arrests have been made, Ernster said Monday morning.
Earlier on Sunday, in St. Paul’s Dayton’s Bluff area, 21-year-old Devon L. Goode was fatally shot on Sixth Street near Etna Street. Police continue to investigate the homicide, which happened about 4:30 p.m., and have not made an arrest.
Asked whether the double shooting in Frogtown was related, Ernster said investigators “always look into relationships between incidents for any connection.”
